Chargers help turn Giants’ season to poop!

The New York Giants thought they had this one in the bank.  With 2:05 to go and the Giants up by six points after a rare Rivers INT, the Chargers marched down the field and turned this Giants victory in to a poop sandwich for all of NY to devour.  This kid, much like the rest of New York probably just shit themselves right in their living room.  Sources report that several people were injured because TV sets came flying out of NY high rises with 00:20 to go in this battle between Manning and Rivers(We made that up).  Phillip Rivers has a career total of ELEVEN 4th quarter comebacks, his most recent being on Sunday, November 8, 2009, where he led the Chargers to a 21-20 win over the New York Giants with less than 30 seconds left.

Chargers Giants Football “Mr. 4th Quarter” has become Philip Rivers’ new nickname after his latest antics at the Meadowlands.  The Chargers weren’t spectacular Sunday, but the defense played well enough to win and our 2004 #1 draft pick beat their 2004 #1 draft pick.  In my opinion, NY got the shit sandwich in 2004 when Eli held his temper tantrum and refused to play for San Diego.  In return, NY gave us the better QB, the player that sacked Manning on the final play yesterday(Merriman), and the NFL’s most accurate kicker(Kaeding).  Thanks Eli!  He may have a ring, but we got the better QB.  The G-Men won their Super Bowl as a team, but I think Rivers could win by himself if he wanted to.  Hopefully he gets the chance this year!

For the first time since he’s been here, Norv Turner has got the Chargers off to a 5-3 start.  In ’07 the Chargers struggled to a 5-5 start before going on an 8 game win streak that ended in the 2008 AFC Championship game.  In ’08 the Chargers didn’t get back to .500 until the final game of the regular season.  It feels a lot better to have a winning record at the midway point of the season, which is a feeling we haven’t had sine the Marty Schottenheimer days.  The next challenge is to beat the Eagles here at home next Sunday.  The Eagles just lost a tough game to their division rivals at home which means the Chargers will need to come out ready to play tough.  Many experts have this NFC team in the Super Bowl and argue that they are one of the most talented teams in the NFL.  Here’s to proving the experts wrong!
