Two torn ligaments in the same knee 5 months after surgery?

Injuries are part of football and that is life in the NFL.  The top news story currently revolves around our own Charger Linebacker, Shawne Merriman and his two torn knee ligaments in a knee that was surgically repaired five months ago.  The season starts in one week and we’re just finding out now that he has two torn ligaments in the same knee.  What did the doctor do in the offseason?  Why isn’t anyone asking these questions?  He is arguably the best defensive player in the NFL and we are just now finding out that a cornerstone of our Chargers defense may miss the entire season or just some of it.  Either way, we are completely blown away by this!  How on earth was this not fixed in the offseason?  This is the question we would like answered.

Regardless of what happens, in AJ we trust!  We are confident that our team depth will compensate for such a loss, but we are not happy about it.
